Obituary for Janet Sue Owens

Janet Sue  Owens
Janet Sue Owens of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on November 20, 1945 in Bollinger County, a daughter to the late Luther Rea and the late Alice (Adams) Rea. On November 27, 1964, Janet was united in marriage to Charley Olen Owens and six children were born unto this union.

Janet entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2017 at her residence having reached the age of seventy-one years, three months, and six days.

Janet is survived by her beloved husband, Charley Owens of Mineral Point; six children: Dennis Owens of Mineral Point, Angie Blair and husband Kenneth of Mineral Point, Gary Owens and wife Lisa of Potosi, Karen Johnson and husband Lonnie of Fletcher, Kenny Owens of Mineral Point, and Niki Owens of Mineral Point; four brothers: Jerry Rea and wife Ann of Bloomsdale, Jack Rea, Mike Rea and wife Sherry of Arnold, and Dale Rea and wife Donna of Dupo, Illinois; eleven grandchildren: Kayla Pashia and husband Wade, Ashley Ivester and husband Justin, Michael Denoyer, Jeremy Blair, NaKiesha Owens, Whitney Owens, Jared Owens, Michael Byerly, Sarah Johnson, Seth Caruthers, and Jasmine Caruthers; and ten great-grandchildren: Sadie, Shawn, Shane, Jackson, Luci, Kyler, Zander, Ameila, Lily, and Kora.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Rea; and sisters: Betty Duck, Eilleen Mattingly, and Shirley Embrey.

Visitation for Janet was held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 2, 2017, beginning at 10:00 AM.

A funeral service began on Thursday at 1:00 PM, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Bob Thurman officiating.

Honoring Janet by serving as her pallbearers were Shane Perry, Shawn Perry, Rich Rea, Gary Rea, Jerry “Bud” Rea, Adam Rea, Jared Owens, and Mike Denoyer.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Lost Creek Cemetery. All funeral arrangements were respectfully cared for by DeClue Funeral Home.
