Obituary for George Michael Skiles

George Michael  Skiles
George Michael Skiles of Potosi, Missouri was born on August 17, 1948, a son to the late Sterling Arthur Skiles, Sr. and the late Julie (Vance) Skiles. On December 28, 1973, George was united in marriage to Alice Rose and they shared forty-four years together.

George departed this life on May 23, 2018 at the Mercy Hospital-Jefferson having reached sixty-nine years of age.

George will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his beloved wife, Alice Skiles of Potosi; four children: Linda (Thurman) Wallace, George Skiles, Jr., Georgia (Shawn) O'Malley, and Amanda (Rodney) Sanders; two brothers: Ronnie (Sally) Skiles and Donald Skiles; grandchildren: Michael, Anthony, Brandon, Skye, December, Saphire, Brett, Erika, Clinton, Josh, and Kami; several great grandchildren; and also many dear extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his infant son, George Skiles; son, Jackie Skiles; brothers: Harold Skiles, Billy Edward Skiles, Sterling Skiles, Jr., and Edmond Skiles; and three sisters: Shirley Hayes, Norma Faye Watkins, and Sue Hodge.

Visitation for George will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel.

All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
