Obituary for Russell Cresswell

Russell  Cresswell
Russell Cresswell of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on April 1, 1950 a son to the late Stephen Glenn Cresswell and the late Annie Laura (Reid) Cresswell. On October 14, 1971, Russell was united in marriage to Karen Joan Emily and there were three children born to this union. Russell passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 having reached the age of sixty-eight years, two months and eleven days.

Russell will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his loving wife, Joan Cresswell; three children: Jennifer Cresswell-Ketley and husband Ken, JR Cresswell, Jessica Payne and husband Ed; sister, Gail Dennis and husband Rod; three grandchildren: Aubrey Cresswell, Reid Payne and Adam Payne; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mike (Shirley) Emily, Pat (Dennis) Medley, Beverly (Don) Pinckard, Kathy (Pete) Conway, Tom (Mary) Emily, Phillip Emily, Mandy Emily; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Russell was preceded in death by his father and mother, Stephen and Ann Cresswell.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4:30-8 p.m. and Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating.

Interment and final prayers will be held at Lost Creek Cemetery. Russell will receive full military honors consisting of flag folding and presentation, TAPS and gun salute presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996. Russell proudly served his country in the Vietnam War.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to the Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517. You may also consult with a Funeral Director for assistance.
